A: If you have an average intelligence which meant you couldn't think about anything except in short burst.
If your intelligence was above normal you would have a little handicap radio in your ear you would have to wear all times by law it was tuned in to a government transmitter. Every twenty seconds or show it would send out sharp noise to keep people like George from unfair knowledge.
Nobody was quicker smarter, faster, or prettier than you everyone was made equal under the government .
My personal opinion i think there society is terrible to live in and very boring too nobody is different everyone is exactly the same. i would personally hate that.
2. In what ways are George and Hazel more like robots than humans? Why do you think this is?
A: George and hazel are more like robots because everything they do is being controlled and probably watched.
They have to carry these heavy weights everywhere so they wont be to fast or two slow just like everyone. Basically the government is controlling there every move. Because naturally someone is going to be smarter or faster or pretty than you, not the same and in a normal society we wouldn't be wearing weights and chains.
3. How would you describe the government in 2081 according to this story? Provide an example from the text.
A: Everybody was finally equal. They weren't only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments to the Constitution. Example from text "You been so tired lately-kind of wore out," said Hazel. "If there was just some way we could make a little hole in the bottom of the bag, and just take out a few of them lead balls. Just a few."
"Two years in prison and two thousand dollars fine for every ball I took out," said George. "I don't call that a bargain."
4. What does it tell you about the world that Harrison lives in if his mother has "average" intelligence and that means she cannot remember anything or think too long about anything?
A:It tells you that no one can never be equal or at least be the smartest out of all people quoting from them they say it wouldn't be fair to be smarter than others. Also the government is controlling them by there will either you where the stuff they give you or you die.
5. How does the ballerina change from the beginning to the end of the story? How do you know? (a. the author tells you b. her actions c. what other characters say about her?
A: B. Her Actions.
6. What does the fact that Harrison is able to influence people tell you about how he is a threat to the government?
A: He is a threat to the government because everything can possibly go wrong and everyone will re-bail on the government because he can easily persuade people to do things just like the government Also because he proves that he is not like everyone else he sticks up for his rights and try to get everyone to do the same. And realizes that there different.
7. Why does the government want everyone to wear handicaps?
A: He wants everyone to wear handicaps because he wants everyone to be equal.
8. How would you describe George and Hazel's reaction to their son's death? Why is their reaction like this?
A: I would describe George and Hazels reaction to there sons death as to no emotions what so ever. They really don't know how to show emotions or react because the thing will send waves to there brain and make them forget. Because they don't know how to show emotions about the situation.
